The Skipperdees (twin sisters Emily and Catherine Backus) hail from Oak Ridge, TN, a town mentioned in the 1989 film Fat Man and Little Boy, which featured Paul Newman and his mustache.They write sad songs but are happy people, currently working with producer Jim White on a debut "big girl record." The Sisters Backus have recently had the chance to collaborate with such luminaries as Caroline Herring, Packway Handle Band, Minton Sparks, and Ben Sollee.
